Bowling a.. Strike?
News came today that our ex-offensive co-ordinator, the much loved Dave Clawson has been named head coach at Bowling Green State University (Go Falcons!)
Coach Clawson replaces former head coach Gregg Brandon, who led Bowling Green to a 44-30 record during his 6 year tenure. Reports state that Clawson will make roughly $200,000 annually, with the ability to make up to $400,000 with incentives.
Let’s hope that Bowling Green doesn’t have to undergo the pain that was the Tennessee offense this year (you can’t wish that upon anyone, except Alabama and Florida). Clawson was raved about before the start of the season, with people talking about everything he had done at Division I-AA with Richmond. However, that equated into nothing but arguably the worst offensive season a Tennesee Football team has ever seen.
Here’s hoping that Clawson enjoys all that is Bowling Green, Ohio, with its distinct odor (I’ve been there, and let me tell you, the town just stinks). Here’s hoping Bowling Green didn’t just make the same mistake that UT did when it hired Clawson. Either way, I’m glad the man is no longer a Vol.
My guess on how it all turns out? He won’t last as long as Brandon.
