Berry Goes 5-for-5

UPDATE (12/18, 4:22 p.m.): Berry’s just not finished.  To add to his consensus All-America honors, Eric Berry was named the best defensive back in the country.  No, Malcolm Jenkins wasn’t stripped of his undeserved Jim Thorpe Award.  Berry was announced as the winner of the Jack Tatum Award, which the Columbus Touchdown Club presents annually to the nation’s best defensive back.  It’s weird to think that a foundation started in the same town as Ohio State would award Eric Berry with top DB honors over local Malcolm Jenkins, but I can’t complain.  At least someone got it right.

To update on an earlier post, Eric Berry became the first UT player in almost 20 years to earn first team honors from each of the five NCAA recognized All-American teams.  Berry’s unanimous mention became official when he was named to the Sporting News All-America team this afternoon.

Congratulations to Eric Berry on this much deserved accomplishment.  It is nice to see him being nationally recognized for all that he has done this year.
