Chism’s Presence Helps Secure Win
I think it’s fair to say Tennessee has struggled this season when the big men don’t show up (see Temple game).
On Tuesday night, the Vols showed what can happen when the big men do show up.
Wayne Chism, with a career-high 26 points to go along with 11 rebounds, helped lead the 16th ranked Vols (7-2) to an 80-68 win over 24th-ranked Marquette (8-2). It was a back and forth affair until the final 10 minutes, when Chism seemed to just take over. In his signature placed headband, Chism was there with a key play every time Marquette pulled it close. He nailed dunks, sank threes, played clutch defense, and hit free throws. In a game the Vols needed to win, a big man finally showed up.
